religion and the environment

The relationship between religion and the environment should neither be forced to go hand in hand or to be kept apart. Certain religions may see it in their religion to need to try and protect and better their surroundings where as others may have no stand point on the environment at all. Religion and Ecology is a field where researchers collaborate with each other to find how religion and ecology tie together. In doing so researchers try and obtain the support of religions in the environmental field.
 So how can uniting environmentalist and religions together be beneficial and constructive? " (a) the environmental actions of religious leaders and communities, (b) political environmentalism bolstered by religious resources, or (c) the environmental movement interpreted as a religious movement" (Jenkins). Due to Religion and Ecology environmental issues can be seen and dealt with by a larger group of people. By relating issues to faith and belief allows for more to deal with these issues as well as become passionate about them. In some cases it almost obligates religious groups to become involved.  Relating environmental issues to religions creates an importance for religious leaders and followers to lend a helping hand.

lululemon seems to be a youtube spoof video that is making fun of yogis. They are creating a humorous video in which they mock the stereotypical words of yogis. The video exaggerates word use and actions to more effectively create humor without overstepping their bounds and becoming offensive. Other than trying to be funny I do not think that the video had any other purpose.

Sustainability is rapidly becoming a topic of interest throughout America as well as the rest of the world.As environmental issues are becoming aware people are beginning to show initiative in working for a better environment. participants range from school systems to million dollar companies. The Green Schools National Conference is being held in Denver and will talk about ways for schools to become more sustainable. The goal is to teach how to make schools from grade K through 12 more "green". Some school districts in Southern California have already began to "harness the suns power". If others follow in their foot steps it will be a huge step for sustainability in America. Large companies are also showing signs of becoming more sustainable. Some companies see the benefit in being able to show off their green movements with consumers appealing more to sustainable practices of producing. Others are making the step solely for the fact that they want to do their part. Either way as long as progress is continuously being made others will fall in and continue to work towards a greener Nation.
